MIKE MUÑOZ

Meet Mike
Here for the Working Class
"For a long time I've been fed up with the representation we have here in New York City. I feel like I can give voice to the people against the special interests and lobbyist that have strongholds in our communities. New Yorkers need affordable housing and safety on our streets, subways, and neighborhoods. I've advocated for veterans for years, and now I want to advocate for the citizens of The City I love."
Mike Muñoz is U.S. Army veteran with 14 years of service, including deployments with the 101st Airborne Division; completing two deployments during Operation Iraqi Freedom and providing intelligence support for USCENTCOM, NORTHCOM, and SOUTHCOM.
After service, he dedicated his time to advocating for veterans, having worked with the NYC Veterans Alliance, IAVA (Iraq-Afghanistan Veterans of America), and Veterans for all voters. He's the founding commander of American Legion Post 917 established in 2024, the first new post in New York State in over a decade.
A Bold Vision. Real Solutions
Safety
Effective training and necessary funding for our men and women in blue to keep our citizens and tourists safe. Reopening the Manhattan Psychiatric Center on Randalls Island, ensuring that the mentally ill are safely housed and treated.
Affordibility
Revamping and expanding the Mitchell-Lama housing program to provide affordable rental and cooperative solutions to moderate- and middle-class families, so that New Yorkers can afford to live in The City they love. Prioritizing veterans, police, fire, and emergency service workers for housing lists.
Prosperity
Closing the loopholes that grant landlords tax breaks for empty storefronts on their property, and penalizing them for storefronts that remain unoccupied for more than six months. This keeps small businesses growing, our economy flowing, and our streets safer.
"Do what you can, with what you have, where you are. "
President Teddy Roosevelt
